Sorry if this is such a noob question but… are there any games that will be played on a PS3? In the rules section it says that Kratos is banned from MK9, but if you’re going to use the Xbox version, that wouldn’t even be a possibility since he’s only on the PS3 version. I was considering registering this year, but if all the games are on xbox I’m SOL. -curious noob.
Yes, those rules are a holdover from last year. All games will be on Xbox 360 this year (except maybe Tekken 6). I dont see why this would leave you SOL, though. You have more than enough time to get a ps2 or ps1 controller and converter if you are a pad player.
Thanks for replying. Would you be able to recommend a good converter? I was hoping to use a dual shock ps3 pad. I was looking at the XCM Cross Fire Converter 2.0 but every description I’ve read said that it “must be used in conjunction with a WIRED Xbox 360 controller,” which doesn’t sound like could just show up to the tournament with my ps3 controller and that converter. Any suggestions/recommendations? Thanks.
The crossfires are annoying, yeah, because you need a wired xbox controller too. I highly suggest getting a PS2 pad, instead of a ps3 pad, and getting a converter for that. If you are an arcade stick player, just dual mod your stick or buy a 360 stick. Most tournament goers have sticks/controllers for both systems so they are prepared.

You are more then welcome to run a BlazBlue side event on Sunday, but the extremely poor turnout last year and the insane number of releases this year left no room for it on the main schedule.

I was wondering, are these fighting game are being played at a certain days or all these games are played three days in the row.
The biggest games run friday and saturday. smaller ones run either friday OR saturday. finals run on sunday.
SCV, SFxT, MK9, KoFXIII, and Tekken 6 are on 360? That makes no frickin sense. These games are mainly played on ps3 at just every tournament. Guess you won’t be getting my greenbacks.
SCV just came out. SFxT just came out. MK9 is superior on 360, and most of the MK players are happy about this change. Tekken 6 was moved back to PS3 due to complaints from Tekken players months ago. SCV, SFxT, and MK9 will remain on 360.
360 players have been forced to have PS3 controller options for years, and now PS3-only players can make the same concession we’ve all already made. Or, you can stay home and enjoy the stream.
This actually made me happy this stuff is on 360. Makes my dual mod seem worth it!

No, this is not possible. Your only option is to mod a keyboard into an Xbox 360 controller, or to make a custom arcade stick for 360 that uses keyboard buttons instead of the usual JLF stick and pushbuttons.

Hey Keits, UFGT is probably going to be my first tournament and I’ll be flying down from Canada for it, however I’ll only have a PS3 Madcatz TE. Can you recommend a good 360 converter or will there be converters for PS3 to 360 for rent at your tournament? I’m trying to keep my costs down so dual modding or buying a 360 stick isn’t something I’d really want to be forced to do, any alternatives would be awesome, thanks!
Definitely check the thread on SRK where we’ve talked about converters. There will be a few for rent at the event as well, and a trio of experts dual modding sticks on site.

We have not decided on pricing for converter rental, but it will be reasonable. Getting a duel mod ranges in price depending on what you start with, but you’d definitely want to tweet @phreakmods to get a quote.

I’m heading out this year and as an owner of both systems I am saying thanks for having ae and marvel on xbox most of the 2d fighter run better on Xbox especially capcom games.While Tekken should run on ps3.

Ps3 controllers must be wired. No wireless controllers are allowed.
Also, how do side tournaments work, are they free or do you need to pay to get into them.

I have a MatCatz PS3 Arcade Stick with sanwa parts (buttons and Knob) is it compatible when hooked up to a 360? i have no problem opening up my Arcade Stick

The UFGT staff will not be running teams tournaments. You are free to run one yourself on Sunday May 26th however, so long as it doesnt not interfere with the actual tournament.
